Mathematics has almost always been important for human progress. However, the fact remains that, in current times, it has become an indispensable tool of all research. Its impact is universal and its sphere of influence seems ever-increasing in its radius. There is hardly a branch of scientific knowledge that has remained untouched by Mathematics.The department is one of the oldest in the college, has a rich legacy, and continues to disseminate the rigor and appreciation for mathematics.
